My Milk Toof by Inhae Lee

Here there is something which will make my dreams tonight cute and childhood-like. This is the story of My Milk Toof by Inhae Lee, an artist from California which lives with the two friendliest and cutest teef ever! How lucky she is to have these two warm hearted little creatures at home.

We spanish kids put our milk teeth under the pillow and by night we have the visit of the Ratoncito Pérez (ratoncito means "little mouse" and "Pérez" is a very spanish and common family name) and get some coins or little presents beneath our pillow the next morning. I remember finding once one little ring with a polly-pocket fairy that could be sitted on it and the magic of how a single mouse could transform a teeth into a polly-pocket just like that.

But yes, eventually Inhae Lee's milk teeth came back to her one day to live at her place. The story of sick Lardee and how ickle tells him a story to make him eat some soup just filled me with joy!

Her photos are so intimate, homey and tender I'd like to believe them real...

They are so messy and so active!

I have already read almost all the blog and stories (and I don't go all the way through because it's very late and I have to study tomorrow!). This girl has developed such a personal, fun and complete work that it makes me want to work harder on my exams and my projects... I really do feel this nice 'good envy' I've spoken in some other post.

You can find her book here.

Hooray for Inhae Lee!!

And hooray for little ickle and Lardee!!

Tattly

One of my daily reads has surprised me with an amazing project. Swissmiss has just launched a lovely project. Ever thought of getting a tattoo? Not in my case, but temporary tattoos is something that always reminds of one's own childhood! And it attracts me as much as analogical things. What does a film camera has to do with a temporary tattoo? Not much, it's just that it's not as they are supposed to be. Photos are supposed to be digital and tattoos are supposed to be forever. Oh my I'm beating around the bush!

What I wanted to share with you is the lovely project of Tattly, a compendium of amazing temporary tattoos created by contributing designers and brought to life by Swissmiss.

It was not until I had a deeper look at how she describes the proyect: 'Tattlys are perfect for people like me, that can’t commit to a real tattoo and for designer parents, that want to raise their kids with style.', that I realised they were actually intended for kids...

This are the Tattlys

How cool for a kid is it to go to school with these? And when I say 'kid' and 'school' I mean 'architect' and 'studio' and 'me', of course!

Homako

My homako bow necklace has arrived safely! I have longed for an HOMAKO necklace for a while. I'm so happy!

There are many pieces of jewelry made with felt and fabric, and none like the ones made by Yoko Minemura. Nevertheless, what actually made me decide to buy it were her rabbit-mask photos, I just couldn't resist it!

This photo belongs to Yoko Minemura, check some more in her flickr, they are all lovely and full of weird fantasy.

Seriously, the rabbit-mask, the cardboard raindrops in these photos and many other objects are a way to disturb reality in order to capture another reality which is foreign to us. A sort of Alice in Wonderland, because everything was real to Alice across the mirror.

Hound

Nice to find this young brand from Chicago, hound. Clean lines and woods, stars and water, as they themselves describe to be their inspirations. I could have some of that, now that I'm studying for my german exams.

Hazel Stark

I was looking at some photos of the Designers/Makers market at London (I hope I can visit it someday!) and I've just ran into the work of Hazel Stark, who is starting (like me! ;D) to develop her work in London. I have to say the whole market looked gorgeous, but this buttons and the package design of Hazel S. inmediately caught my eye. She also has the loveliest corner shop design... wish I could have one too...sigh

I wish her a lot of success and shapes and colors!
